MOOC@USM
MOOC@USM was officially launched on 14 January 2016 following Dasar e-Pembelajaran Negara (DePAN) and Malaysia Education Blueprint 2015-2025 (Higher Education) highlighting the Shift 9 of Globalised Online Learning. The program itself started much earlier in 2014 with the development of several pilot courses that served as an introductory to MOOC development.
USM is committed in expanding the concept of higher learning under four key principles, “Quality Education”, “Sustainability”, “Accessibility”, and “Learning for Life”. The idea of MOOC@USM is to change the traditional classroom, which has always been a “secret garden” for the few, into an open platform accessible to just about anyone. As such, we offer courses that are niche for academics, students, and industry as well as general courses that are palatable to the public and community.
We at USM always believe that quality education should always be accessible to anyone who have the passion to learn, and the pursuit of knowledge is a lifelong journey for everyone.
